A common anxiety disorder that develops after exposure to a terrifying experience/trauma which has produced or threatened grave physical harm. PTSD occurs in all age groups, with over twice as many women as men being affected. Depression, substance abuse, and/or other anxiety disorders frequently accompany PTSD. Secondary Post-traumatic stress disorder:-Family members of victims also can develop the disorder.
